TECHNICAL VISIT TO

Port of Barcelona on board the traditional “Las Golondrinas”


The Port of Barcelona has developed during centuries in a coastal strip that contains some of the most challenging geotechnical conditions in town. Those challenges have been faced to build a major harbour with spaces for industrial, leisure, commercial and recreational traffic.

What better way to wrap up ISC'7 than by exploring the Port of Barcelona on board the traditional and iconic " Las Golondrinas"? After days full of interesting presentations at the conference, take a well-deserved break and join us for a fascinating cruise along the waters of the port.

During the tour, we will visit some areas of large development in the recent years, such as the Muelle Prat and Muelle Adosado, where outstanding nearshore geotechnical investigations have been conducted.


Schedule for the 21st of June:

  • 09:00-10:00 Brief introduction by the Port Authority (APB), UPC and GEM-Igeotest.
  • 10:00-10:15 Boarding time
  • 10:15-12:15 Cruise through the port with some snacks and refreshments

The meeting point will be the World Trade Center.
