The behaviour of allophane soils is directly related to their fabric and structure, which are transformed according to their weathering degree through biogeochemical processes that can give rise to changes in the minerals that compose them. Methodologies that allow soil characterization in a more interdisciplinary way manage to associate physical, chemical, and mineralogical properties with geomechanical behaviour.
